I have always loved dogs and wanted them to be a part of my life, but the journey I have been on since initially reading Jan's book 'The Dog Listener' was something I never expected. I have been to Yellowstone Park and stood watching Jan's original teachers the Druid Peak Wolf Pack as they did their thing and I have had my eyes opened to the world from the dog's point of view; that is somewhat humbling. I get a huge amount of pleasure from being a Dog Listener. The owners' lives are easier, their dogs are happier, and that makes me a very happy Dog Listener.

Becoming a Dog Listener for me has been an incredible journey and it all started with my first dogs ‘Tuffers’ and ‘Daisy’. Even after doing what I thought were ‘all the right things’ by taking them to traditional training classes their behaviour degenerated to the point of being aggressive to other dogs! I spent half my life dreading walks and apologising to other owners for my dogs’ bad behaviour. I tried everything, or I thought I had until I discovered Jan Fennell and Amichien Bonding. When I started applying Jan Fennell’s methods the change in my dogs was so amazing I knew I just had to teach others how to have what I had now achieved , Calm, Happy, Relaxed dogs that are a pleasure to walk. Working in a Rescue Centre and rising to the position of Assistant Manager spurred me on to make a difference in the lives of those ‘rebound’ dogs, helping them to settle happily in their new homes. One of my earliest memories as a child is of sitting cuddling a dog and telling him that I loved him. Dogs have always been a major part of my life. It was a dog who led me to Jan and Amichien Bonding. Emmie was special in so many ways but had a behaviour I wanted to change. Over the years I tried behaviourists, trainers, gadgets etc., but none worked, so I read everything I could. Jan’s first book “The Dog Listener” had just been published. I call reading this my “eureka” moment. That’s when I realised why Emmie behaved the way she did and what needed to change. The experience led me to want to help other owners and their dogs. Sadly, Emmie past away just as I became a Dog Listener, but as this chapter ended, a new one began. I took on Ben, a rescue dog who really needed an owner to understand and guide him. Working with Ben led to a passion to help other rescue dogs, resulting in me working with several rescue organisations. I have had the pleasure of watching wolves in Yellowstone and learning more about them from experts. This year, through Elsa I have seen the difference Amichien Bonding makes to a puppy. I know from everything I have experienced and feedback from owners that Amichien Bonding will give you and your dog the relationship you both want and deserve.

For me, working as a Dog Listener is the culmination of a lifelong involvement with dogs. From early childhood when my father bred Golden Retrievers, through my teenage years when I competed with several Collies and German Shepherds in local obedience competitions and later to my daily shepherding work and weekend sheepdog trials with my three Border Collies.
